Support Operation Emergency Fund
Sometimes even our strongest need support
Military families serve this country with pride - but sometimes this service comes at a cost. Whether it be mental health or food security, military families deserve a safe place to turn to.
How TWS is helping
Together We Stand created Operation Emergency Fund, a program designed to address acute financial crises within the military community in a confidential and dignified way. Through an official partnership with the Canadian Armed Forces, Together We Stand works to get emergency funding to military families within a 72-hour period - the first of its kind program for Canadian military families.
Our Impact
TWS has distributed $470,000+, helping 1500+ families with assistance for emergency housing, food security, emergency childcare and mental health services since 2021.
Support Operation Fallen
With service comes sacrifice
When a member of our armed forces loses their life while in uniform, it reminds our country of the ultimate sacrifice serving members face in the name of duty. The fallen men and women leave behind families - mothers, fathers, husbands and wives, sons and daughters.
How TWS is helping
To support those grieving, Together We Stand created Operation Fallen to encourage civilians to send messages of love and support to military families left behind. These messages are then turned into customized flags, and sent to the grieving families, units and squadrons, as a way to honour the members' memory and service.
Our Impact
11 members of the Canadian Armed Forces have lost their lives in service since 2020. TWS has supported each one of their families through Operation Fallen, along with their units and squadrons.
Educate Operation Military Family Appreciation Day
Canadians don't understand the challenge
While our military members serve our country domestically and abroad, it's become evident that Canadians are increasingly unaware that military families serve this country too. These families take on significant challenges as they support their serving member's career; sacrificing relationships, employment opportunities, moving to multiple new cities and schools, all to keep our OWN families safe.
How TWS is helping
Working closely with Members of Parliament, Together We Stand established a nationally recognized day for Canadian military families. Now, the third Friday in September is known annually as Military Family Appreciation Day - a tool to educate Canadians about the impact they make on our country.
Our Impact
Our 2023 campaign reach was 37M impressions using #MFAD
Honour Operation Care Package
Managing the home front alone
When a member is deployed domestically or abroad, their families are left behind to manage family, households, finances, occasions and illnesses alone.
These absences can last anywhere from four months to a year at a time.
How TWS is helping
To boost morale and honour their service to our country, Together We Stand created Operation Care Package as a way to say thank you to Canada's military families. Each family experiencing the deployment of a loved one has the opportunity to receive a package filled with thank you messages and meaningful gifts - a small token of appreciation for all that they do on the homefront.
Our Impact
Over 16,000 military families have received a care packages since 2017, with $4.5M+ cash and in-kind gifts donated
